Here’s a quick review of June, 2024.
I’ve spent June somewhat soul-searching. After my Crowdsale on The Game Crafter for DISTURBLINGS and MICRO DISTURBLINGS did not do as well as expected, I had to decide what I’d be willing to change. You see, its poor performance is my own fault. My marketing skills are minimal, and I invest far more time into designing/illustrating games than I do socializing on the various social platforms to build good will/form friendships/market etc. I mean, even now I only post to my website once a month! I have to do better than that if I ever want to make a splash in this industry, I’m just not willing to do the necessary things and I only have myself to blame for that.
Aside from that, I did get my submissions for DEAD IN THE WATER and TREE-WRECKONING in for the BGG 1-card Challenge. I don’t really plan on compiling them into my 1 card collection until sometime mid next year. These contest sort of derail me at times, forcing me to lose focus on my current project. Currently, TGC has a coloring contest going on and I’m fighting (but failing) the urge for that one as well lol.
Last month, I said I was going to work on Brutal Beatdown (which I have), Evilution (which I haven’t) and the final stages of Monstrosity (which I ABSOLUTELY have!). I playtested Monstrosity with my local group and got some good feedback, which spiraled into some great changes. Originally, Monstrosity was going to be a simple reason, but I’m leaning towards trying to make a bigger splash with it now. I’ve all of the cards updated, added in new mechanics, new features, new goals and have done a Tabletop Simulator version that’ll I’ll be using pretty soon to help playtest it. If you’re interested, please let me know.
And while I’m speaking of playtesting, I’ve spent 12 or so hours playtesting a digital version of Don’t Let It Die on Steam, and I’ve had a blast. Check it out!
WHAT’S NEXT?
Finish Monstrosity, along with its expansion and shop page to prep for its crowdsale, all while continuing to chip away at Brutal Beatdown.
