Here’s a draft of my next book’s cover. Still in the early stages. Just trying to work out the font and image layout. What does everyone think? Intriguing? Too scary? Possibly fun? Let me know!

Picture a children’s book themed like a school yearbook, then toss in a comedic little character (me!) who finds himself trapped inside it… Follow him (me!) as he (uh, me!) flees through one bonkers page after another trying to escape.

Will it be in black and white, or color? Either way, it may attract some of my reluctant readers! What grade level are you planning to attract? 3rd and up would be good, if that is the target audience.

Hi! Thanks for the input. The book itself will start in black & white then quickly transition into color. I’m aiming for it to be accessible by a wide range of kids, namely K-4th grade, but it’ll most likely appeal to boys looking for some easy visual fun. The story will be simple, but lots will be happening on the pages. Humorous pictures of a variety of characters chasing my main character. There’s no lessons to learn or big message, just entertainment for entertainment’s sake. I try to explore and do something different with each of my books. 🙂
