Opinion Needed: Is this Appropriate for a Children’s Book?

Need everyone’s opinion on something, please! After my monster dude disguises himself, he’s busy chomping away as a sad potato sulks off. Clearly the red stuff in the picture above is ketchup, but it’s also evocative of blood. Do you think it’s inappropriate for children to see?

This book is aimed at pre-school through second grade. It’s not too late for me to cut it out.

Please comment your thoughts below. Thanks!

Hiding a Monster

NOTE: Release date – 10-1-2019

Don’t judge a monster by its, er, monsterness… No, really! They’re not all that bad! In Hiding a Monster, you’ll make a new friend, one who just so happens to be a big ol’ fluffy orange monster. BUT, there’s no time to play just yet. First, you’ll need to help him hide from world famous monster hunter, Van Helsing…

Don’t be worried though. This monster’s full of creative ideas. You need only help him pick the best one!
